Saffron

Saffron would like to be so good at writing so that one day she can write a story so big from head to toe. We decided to get creative so she can do this now. This is the start of her project she can't wait to show you the end result.

Wow Saffron! Thanks for this awesome post.  Maybe you would like to be an author when you are older? I would certainly buy your books!

Fwd: Jack making pizza dough

Hi there
Over the weekend Jack learnt about how organisms grow and breath. We made pizza dough to demonstrate this... and make yummy pizza at the end!
First we got some fried yeast and thought about what it needs. Jack thought about what he likes when he wakes up and what the yeast would like to wake up. So, we gave the yeast some warm cuddles (warm water), a drink (water) and some food (honey). We mixed it together and left it in a nice warm place.

After a while we looked at the yeast and talked about how it had woken up as it was all bubbly and active. We then talked about how we could help it grow more and what happens when we are growing and breathing. What might the yeast do that is the same as us? What might the bubbles be?

We mixed the yeast with the ingredients for our dough and gave them a good mix so all the yeast had lots of food to eat and grow.

His brother Sam helped give it a good mix! We then thought we would give the yeast another good rest in a nice warm place.

After our bike ride we looked again at the dough and wow! It was huge!!

Lastly, we had to give it a good workout, just like us to make it good and strong so it could make a strong pizza base and be stretchy as well!

And best of all we had a tasty pizza to eat!!

Thanks,
Jack and whanau

Jack’s rubber egg video

Jack had a science lesson where he made a rubber egg! He was very excited about it and wanted to share a video about it. Shortly after the video we also definitely found out it was raw as mummy bounced it a bit too hard!!
That sounds fun. Google Science experiments Bouncing egg and have a try. Mrs B
